Frequently asked questions

How does data extraction work?

We use a proprietary extraction process. Nothing is generated—only extracted. All data must be confirmed by the user before downstream actions (e.g., payment advices) can occur.

How accurate is your extraction?

In our experience with customers and in testing, typically 1-2 fields require changing at most. However, many factors impact this, so results may vary.

Can I transfer my data from another platform?

Absolutely. This is a quick and easy process, leveraging Royalty Reader's data extraction capabilities.

Can I export to an accounting system?

Yes. We can easily export your data for upload to your preferred accounting system.

What reports can Royalty Reader create?

Ready to access reports include anticipated monies (filterable by agent, author, title, and more), rights sold, units sold by format, subsidiary rights earnings, missing royalty statements, and more.

Can we upload Deal Memos?

Yes. Royalty Reader will parse initial contract data from a deal memo, and when the contract is ready, users can upload them to supplement the existing data with data such as Reserves, Out of Print, and Author Approvals.

Does Royalty Reader make 1099s?

Yes! We also create .CSV files based on IRS templates for you to upload directly to the IRS.
